I'm back!

So all summer I've been threatening to learn how to quill paper, so for the first college project of the year I decided to try it out. It's still fairly basic and was extremely time consuming but I think it turned out pretty cute :) x

My Big Fat Gypsy Idol

Two posts in one day! What's wrong with me? Anyway so yesterday I got to meet one of my favourite celebrities, for those of you who don't know, I have a slight obsession with 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' (I mean I even did one of my college essays about it)! So meeting Thelma Madine in UCD yesterday was a big thing for me :D One of my dearest friends is also head of the law society in the college so she had asked me to design a poster to show that Thelma was getting an honorary life membership to the society (kind of a big deal).
So here's my design, seeing people walking around carrying the little flyers was also pretty cool!

Party like it's 1991

So I'm still scanner-less and trying to find different way of occupying my time whilst avoiding doing the one and only thing I had to do for college over summer(So apologies if they're a tad blurry)! Last Saturday I got to step back in time for the lovely Clio's 21st birthday party. Finally getting to see everyone from college was so so so brilliant and it's made me even more excited to go back! For my birthday Christopher got me a polaroid camera, so the party was the perfect excuse to try it out and i've fallen in love with polaroid film, the excitement of waiting to see how each picture will turn out, i just love it!  x

I should find better ways to pass the time

So I'm currently sitting on my own waiting on my friends to come home from college, as you can see I was bored! I was going to put up my polaroids from the weekend but I don't have a scanner here which makes things a little trickier so I'll get around to that eventually because they look super cute :) x

London

So I've been an absolutely hideous blogger this summer but that's mainly because it's been a fairly uneventful few months. I said goodbye to my teens, joined the world of employment, climbed a mountain and my friends and I went over to London for a few days last week, which has been the height of my summer! We met so many new people and had loads of fun, possibly a bit too much fun judging by the texts that poor Christopher had the pleasure of receiving in the early hours of the morning!

Just a thought

so I've been really lazy this last while, just lazing around the house in baggy hoodies and no makeup and it just got me thinking about how much time I actually spend/waste whatever way you want to put it, doing my makeup. Not that i'm going to change because I'd rather hide under a rock than step out without having at least made some sort of effort but still. 

and of course with every thought should come a pretty illustrator image ;) x

Maps and stuff

So today I was sitting in on a design studio in Dublin with one of the guys from college as part of an observation thing. It was EXTREMELY boring but I guess kinda nice to see what the whole thing's like. While I was very bored I made a map :) x

You'd know I had the day off college

So for the first time I a very long time I had absolutely NOTHING to procrastinate about, which was really strange, I found myself just looking for things to do (the dishes excluded). So I started a photoshop painting of the one and only Christopher Brennan. It's not finished yet but I'm getting there :) Also I'm really new to photoshop because our introduction to it at college was ehh basic :P  x

Comic strip

So I find myself procrastinating, again. I'm attempting to re-do things in my portfolio, and still failing miserably :( I REALLY hated my comic strip i did a while back and then it went missing so it seemed like a logical thing to do again. I am completely aware that it is in no way funny or anything but it's an improvement :P x

So I finally got around to photographing some old stuff I made in college, it was this really stupid book module where you weren't allowed to make any marks on the page so it was a tad tricky but sure it was all fun and the tutor was a wee dote too :') 

I literally think this is going to be the only colourful things in my portfolio :(

Piercing eyes and apple pies

So I've been a very bad blogger recently, and i was doing so well there for a while :( But anyway - my life has been extremely boring this last while, i decided to make a website for my wee mammy and when i eventually get it up and running i'll show all my dedicated blog readers, aka Siobhan. 
So basically at college we have to sort out our portfolios for Tuesday and it's just stressful because i just want to re-do everything, but anyways ... here's some photos from a photography module :) x

I liked to cut maps

so I did these maps last year for college and I still think there's something nice about them, I guess it's just an attachment because they just took so long. I have them all hidden away in a box in my room and eventually I will get around to doing something with them, but for now here's a selection of maps that i cut out :) x

also, i now feel really old because I did these at the end of my 1st year in college and now i'm a month away from finishing year 2 :'(

What I did in college today, I've always wanted to know how to make an origami crane, so while procrastinating I thought it would be the perfect time :)

I'm still learning my way around the whole blog thing :) anyway- tbh I really didn't think this drawing would take so long but it's finally almost done :) I'm pretty happy with it so far and i think she'll really appreciate it, so that's the only thing keeping me interested right now :D

in other news my friend and I decided it would be a great idea to try and dye my hair light pink coz it had faded loads :( it was a  bit of disaster but it's slightly better now so i've calmed down a bit :)

To Do List #2

so seeing as I actually did stick to my last to do list (yay) I've decided to try one over my Easter holidays ... fingers crossed :) 

Happy Birthday Granny :)

So it's my Granny's birthday coming up and my dad thought that she'd really appreciate a drawing, so that's what I'm working on at the minute (it's kinda hard with the absolutely stunning weather we're having :D) so anyway, i'm about half way there and I'll post the finished one when I get it finished :) x

I've tried really hard to get the stupid heading to be centered but if I have to name one more file 'ok-last-attempt' I think I'll cry,and it's far too big and not what I wanted at all. I'll get round to it eventually, but until then, it's wonky and proud .(: x

My Robot

So far i'm still sticking to my to do list (yay) and I'm finding just about any excuse to make a new blog post in my new effort to spend less time on facebook. So anyway, here is my little robot (with the slightly wonky arms :P)  :) x

To Do List - Day 1

So here we are, day one of trying to be productive. So the dishes are done and essay will be soon enough too and I may have accidentally deleted the robot I was working on so fingers crossed I'll be able to get that back :) 

Spending more time making blog posts than doing actual work, but at least it's better than repeatedly hitting the home button on facebook :) 

Procrastination

ok so it's Sunday and I've just spent all weekend at Offset (design conference) and I've realised how much time I waste, so I've decided to kick the habit (well try at least). I LOVE making lists which if you believe horoscopes is because I'm a Virgo, or maybe it's because I'm just desperately jealous of organised people, either way, tomorrow things will be different :)

Such a gorgeous city, shame it was so cold though. Combining some of my greatest loves all into a few days was tough but i think we managed it.

so i'm not really doing this in order but i'm new to this so i'm trying to backtrack my work :) this was just a college typography project which i actually really enjoyed doing and as minimalistic as the results were, i was really happy with them.
